Quadra ("the App") is a racket sports matchmaking and community mobile application published by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use Quadra.
By using Quadra, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you sign up and use Quadra, we collect the following information:
- Account information: Your name and email address, obtained through your Google or Apple sign-in (SSO). We do not collect or store passwords.
- Profile information: Profile photo, city, state, and country of residence.
- Sports profile: Self-assessed skill level, years of experience, preferred play style (singles/doubles), preferred court surface, and dominant hand.
- Availability schedule: Your preferred days and times for playing racket sports.
- Match data: Match history, scores, match results, and dispute information.
- Club information: Club memberships, club posts, and club-related activity.
- Social content: Posts, comments, and kudos you create or interact with in the social feed.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device location: When you grant location permission, we collect your approximate location while the App is in the foreground only. We do not track your location in the background. Your location is stored as a geohash, which provides neighborhood-level precision (approximately 5 km). This location data is used to help you find nearby players.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and push notification tokens (used solely for delivering notifications).
1.3 Information from Third-Party Sign-In Providers
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the respective provider. We do not receive your password or any other account credentials. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Account creation and authentication: To create and manage your Quadra account via Google or Apple sign-in.
- Player matchmaking: To show you nearby players and match requests based on your location, skill level, and availability.
- Rankings and statistics: To calculate and display Elo-based rankings at the city, state, and country levels.
- Social features: To power the social feed, clubs, kudos, comments, and community features.
- Notifications: To send you push notifications about match requests, score confirmations, ranking changes, club activity, and match reminders.
- Map features: To display nearby players on a map at approximate (neighborhood-level) locations.
- Media delivery: To store and serve your profile photos and shared content through our content delivery network.
- App improvement: To understand how the App is used and to improve its features and performance.
3. Information Sharing
3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Quadra is a free app with no advertising. Your data is not used for advertising purposes.
3.2 Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your information:

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Quadra, its users, or the public.
3.4 Information Visible to Other Users
Certain information is visible to other Quadra users as part of the App's functionality:
- Your profile name, photo, city/state/country, sports profile, and skill level are visible to other users.
- Your match results and scores are visible to players you have matched with and, if shared, to your club members and followers.
- Your approximate location (neighborhood-level) is visible on the player map, unless you opt out of map visibility.
- Your club memberships and club activity are visible to other club members.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, primarily in the US East (Virginia) region, with global distribution through AWS CloudFront for media delivery.
4.2 Security Measures
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
- Authentication is handled through industry-standard SSO providers (Google and Apple) via AWS Cognito. We never store your password.
- Access to AWS infrastructure is restricted and follows the principle of least privilege.
- Location data is stored as geohashes (approximate), not exact GPS coordinates.
4.3 Data Retention
- Active accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
- Geolocation data: Your location is automatically removed from the geolocation table after 30 days of inactivity in the App.
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: You can view all the personal information we hold about you through your profile settings in the App.
- Correction: You can update or correct your profile information at any time through the App.
- Data Export: You can request a full export of your personal data through the profile settings.
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through the profile settings.
- Opt-Out of Map Visibility: You can opt out of appearing on the player map in your privacy settings.
- Notification Preferences: You can manage your push notification preferences in the App settings.
6. Location Data
Quadra collects your device location only when the App is in the foreground and you have granted location permission. We do not perform background location tracking.
Your location is converted to a geohash, which represents an approximate area (neighborhood-level, roughly 5 km precision). We do not store your exact GPS coordinates.
7. Children's Privacy
Quadra is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. LGPD Compliance (Brazil)
If you are located in Brazil, you have additional rights under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD). For details, please see the Portuguese version of this Privacy Policy.
9. US Privacy
9.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We do not sell your personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. For significant changes, we will notify you through a push notification or an in-app notice.
